Hello, My name is Lynne Bates. My mother found a picture that was taken by her father, Joseph Marks. There are names on the back of the photo and one is "Man on the flyin guitar, Denny".
There is no date, but my grandfather passed away in 1949. They lived in Turtle Creek, Pa, Wilkins Township. This is just east of Pittsburgh, PA.
I am sending the photo and the back with their autographs.
Below are the locations of what is written on the back of the photo.
1) Fiddlin Wayne (upper left corner)
2) Sincerely Yours, Sandy (just below #1)
3) Your's Sincerely, Fisco Frankie (just below #2)
4) Your friends Becky & Ann (top middle)
5) Your Friend, Margie (right of #4)
6) Man on the Flyin Guitar, Denny (middle of photo back)
7) Missouri Mickey (to the right of #6)
8) Yours Truly, Rusty (lower right, upside down)
Mom just had her 80th birthday in December, so some of these fine folk could be her age or older.
Please let me know if you know any body in the photo.
My grandfather, Joseph Marks, had a truck with a big speaker on the top that he played music (records) at parties, etc. and he took photographs at the parties.
I am thinking this would be in the 1930's because they gave up the truck when WWII came along and metal was needed to support the war effort. The truck was
given up for that.
Country music was something that was heard in the house when we went to visit. I grew up in the Harrisburg, PA area and spent many summers at grandma's house in the 50's. We ate supper listening either to a Pirates baseball game or listening to country music.
We moved to AZ in 1960, so now I am in the heart of the west and home of KNIX and KMLE country radio stations.
