How it all got started.
Wayne's journey into music began in 1974 at the age of 13. He started learning guitar hoping to play in a rock band but as he got older he drifted towards Bluegrass. In 1984 Wayne attended a meeting of the Oklahoma City Traditional Music Association and was introduced to the wonders of traditional old time and Celtic music. He loved it so much that he even served a term as president of the OCTMA for a year in 1986-87.
In 1986 Wayne, along with a friend, formed "The Prairie Land String Band" which became one of Oklahoma's leading old time string bands. While performing with Prairie Land Wayne was able to greatly expand his knowledge and repertoire of traditional old time and Celtic music.
From 2002 to 2004 Wayne performed with the Irish band Calliope House playing fiddle, tenor banjo, mandolin and guitar.
Wayne has also worked a bit in theater performing music for a Stage Center production of "Babe, the Sheep Pig", and the Stage Door Theatrical Company in Norman's production of a 1920's version of "2 Gentlemen of Verona". He's even been in a couple of television commercials!

As most musicians, I have a day job which is at Oklahoma Honda-Suzuki.
The most important thing about my life other than my wonderful wife Brenda and the 5 kids I've been blessed with is my relationship with Jesus Christ. I received the gift of eternal life March 14th 1996 and now have the complete confidence that when I die I will spend my eternity in Heaven (Playing jigs and reels of course) How about you? Do you have the confidence that when you die you will spend your eternity in heaven?
